One of the great treatment options, especially for adults, are the options that mask the treatment from others on a day to day basis. If you’re a grown-up and don’t want to answer a lot of questions about why you chose to get braces now or why your parents didn’t get them for you, then we have options for you.
To start with, there are ceramic braces. Ceramic braces are made of, well, you know, ceramic material. Actually, it’s the bracket that is ceramic. Ceramic braces are very similar to the traditional metal braces you often see people wear. There’s a bracket, a wire, and adjustments every few weeks. The difference is that the ceramic brackets can be clear, which are hard to notice, or they can be colored to the exact match of your teeth so they blend in even better. It’s a great option for people whose treatments might require a more traditional approach.
You also have the option of clear aligners. Clear aligners are nothing like traditional braces at all. A 3-D scan is taken of your mount and a clear tray comes to you which is designed to move your teeth around to take care of your smile and bite. Every couple of weeks, a newer more adjusted tray comes in and you take the old one out and put the new one on. You only take it out to brush and floss, otherwise, it’s in there doing its job. It’s a great option for many folks.
The contrasts of ceramic braces and clear aligners are there, but the similarity is that they are good options for folks who want to keep their orthodontic work a bit low profile. If you’re interested in either or even traditional braces, set up an appointment with Shoe Orthodontics and we’ll get you started on the road to the smile you’ve always wanted.
